2. MCA Entrance syllabus of BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY (BHU):-

SYLLABUS:

Mathematical Aptitude Test Areas (+2 Level): Logarithms, Inequalities, Matrices and Determinants, Progressions, Binomial Expansion, Permutation and Combination, Equations (upto degree 2), Function and Relation, Complex Arithmetic, 2-D Coordinate Geometry, Basics of Calculus, Basic Concepts of Probability.


 3 .MCA Entrance syllabus of IIT Roorkee: -

Syllabus:

The Computer Applications (CA) test paper comprises of Mathematics, Computer Awareness, and analytical Ability and General Awareness and they will be in the ratio 4:2:1.The question paper will be fully of objective type. There will be negative marking (one third) for wrong answer.

MATHEMATICS
Algebra: Set theory and its simple applications. Basic concepts of groups, fields and vector spaces.
Matrices: Rank of a matrix. Existence and uniqueness of solution of a system of linear equations. Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors. Inverse of a matrix by elementary transformations.
Differential Calculus: Differentiation, Partial differentiation, Taylor series and approximate calculations. Maxima and minima of functions of one and two variables. Integral Calculus: Single and multiple integration. Definite integrals, Change of order and change of variables. Applications to evaluation of area, surface and volume. Differential Equations: First order differential equations, linear differential equations of higher order with constant coefficients.
Vector Algebra: Addition, subtraction, dot product, cross product, triple product and their applications.
Numerical Analysis: Solution of non-linear equations using iterative methods. Interpolation (Lagrange’s formula and Newton’s formula for equidistant points). Numerical differentiation and integration (Trapezoidal and Simpson’s rules).
Probability: Basic concepts of probability theory. Binomial and Poisson distributions.
Linear Programming: Formulation and its graphical solution for two variable problems.

COMPUTER AWARENESS
Elements of computers. Number systems. Basic electronic gates. Boolean algebra. Flip-Flops. Algorithmic
approach to solve problems. Fundamentals of C language.
ANALYTICAL ABILITY AND GENERAL AWARENESS Simple questions will be asked to test the analytical ability and general awareness of candidates.

5. MCA Entrance syllabus of DELHI UNIVERSITY:

Syllabus:

Test shall have the following components: Mathematical Ability, Computer Science, Logical Reasoning, and English Comprehension Syllabus for entrance test is given below:
Mathematics: Mathematics at the level of B. Sc. program of the University of Delhi.
Computer Science: Introduction to Computer organization including data representation, Boolean circuits and their simplification, basics of combinational circuits; C - programming: Data types including user defined data types, constants and variables, operators and expressions, control structures, modularity: use of functions, scope, arrays.
Logical ability & English Comprehension: Problem-solving using basic concepts of arithmetic,  lgebra, geometry and data analysis. Correct usage of English Language and Reading comprehension.


6. MCA Entrance syllabus of GOA UNIVERSITY:

Syllabus:

General Aptitude: Logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, visuo-spatial reasoning, high school math’s, vocabulary, English comprehension & verbal ability.
Mathematics: Set, relations & mapping, pure arithmetic (ratios and proportions, problems on time- work/distance-speed, percentage etc.)
Algebra: fundamental operations in algebra, expansion, factorization, simultaneous linear/quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, permutations and combinations.
Geometry: Angles at a point and parallel lines, triangles, polygons of n-sides, circles, geometric transformations- particularly similarity, rotation and reflection, areas.
Trigonometry: Trigonometrical ratios, two-dimensional problems on heights and distances.
Co-ordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, equations of line, mid-point, intersections etc., equations of circle, distance formulae, simple geometric transformations such as translation, rotation and scaling.
Mensuration: Areas, triangles and quadrilaterals, area and circumference of circles, volumes and surface areas of simple solids such as cubes, spheres, cylinders and cones.
Computer Concepts: Computer basics, data representation, binary arithmetic, computer languages (Assembly languages & characteristics of high level languages etc.).


7. MCA Entrance syllabus of PUNE UNIVERSITY:

Syllabus:

The entrance examination consists of multiple choice (objective type) questions (100 marks), and covers the areas of Mathematics, general aptitude and English language.
Mathematics Syllabus:
·         Set theory: Set operations, relations, functions.
·         Propositional logic: Formulation, deduction, evaluation, puzzles.
·         Linear Algebra: Solution of a system of linear equations. Determinant and inverse  of a matrix, basic properties of                               matrices.

B a s i c c o n c e p t s o f p r o b a b i l i t y, C o n d i t i o n a l pr o b a b i l i t y, B a y e’s theorem, Discrete and continuous distributions (Binomial, Poisson, and Normal distributions), Fundamentals of linear programming problems, Graphical solution, Simplex method and its variants.
6. Matrices: Types of matrices rank of a matrix, solution of system of linear equations, Cayley Hamilton theorem, Inverse of a matrix, Determinant and its properties.
7. Numerical Analysis: Solution of non-linear equations using iterative methods, Interpolation
(Newton's, Lagrange's and Forward formulae), Numerical Integration (Trapezoidal and Simpson Rule).


Section-II: Computer Awareness (50 Questions)

o  Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), input/output devices, computer memory, memory organization, back-up devices, Categories of Computers.
Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers, and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, Binary Arithmetic:
Addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, floating point representation of numbers, normalized floating point representation,
Boolean algebra: truth tables, Venn diagrams.
o  Basics of C Programming and Operating Systems : Computer programming in C : data types, loop and control statements, functions. Fundamentals of operating systems: multiprogramming, multitasking, Multi processing and time sharing systems.
o  Networking and Internet : Categories of Computer Network, Network topologies, Network media, Concepts of LAN, MAN and WAN, Search Engines, Basic internet applications.

Section-III: Analytical Ability, Communication Skills and General Knowledge:(40 Questions)
The questions in this section will cover logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and visual-spatial reasoning and Communication skills. This section shall also contain questions to test the general knowledge about business, finance, industry, transportation, scents if icinvent ions , in format ion technology, governance, heal thecae, cultural dimensions etc.


 10. MCA Entrance syllabus of ALIGARH MUSHLIM UNIVERSITY (AMU):

Syllabus:

There shall be one objective type paper of 100 marks comprising 100 Questions with the following breakup:


a) Mathematics and Statistics :                                       50 Questions
b) Physics :                                                                 20 Questions
c) Computer Science :                                                  20 Questions
d) Logical ability, deductive ability and reasoning :             10 Questions


 11. MCA Entrance syllabus of BIRLA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (BIT):

Syllabus:

The MCA  Online Entrance Test shall comprise of 120 questions to be answered in 2 hours. Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices out of which only one is correct.A candidate must select only the correct answer to score full marks. For each correct answer a candidate will earn 4 marks. For every incorrect answer one mark will be deducted. If a question has not been attempted no credit will be given. The questions will be distributed into various areas as follows and the detailed syllabus is given below:

• Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous functions, differentiation of function(s), tangents and normal’s, simple examples of maxima and minima, integration of function by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integral application to volumes and surfaces of frustums of a sphere, cone, cylinder, Taylor Series.
• Differential Equations: Differential equations of first order and their solutions, linear differential equations with constant coefficients, homogenous linear differential equations.
• Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics
• Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, solution of triangles, height and distance, inverse function
• Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, averages, dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, and measures of dispersions, skewness and kurtosis, random variable and distribution functions, mathematical expectations, binomial, Poisson, normal distributions, curve fitting, and principle of least squares, correlation and regression
• Linear Programming: Formulation of simple linear programming problems, basic
concepts of graphical and simplex methods, revised simplex method, transportation and
assignment problems, duality and integer programming 


12.MCA Entrance syllabus of GUJRAT UNIVERSITY (GJU):

Syllabus:

The question paper consists of 100 questions with duration of 150 mts.Each correct answer carries 3 marks and each wrong answer carries negative mark of 1.

Syllabus:

Bachelor’s degree under (10+2+3) system from a recognized University/Institution with 50% marks in aggregate and Mathematics at 10+2 level.


14. MCA Entrance syllabus of HIMACHAL PRADESH UNIVERSITY (HPU):

Syllabus:

15. MCA Entrance syllabus of HYDRABAD UNIVERSITY:

Syllabus:

Admission is based on a written test conducted by the University. The written test consists of objective type questions in two parts with equal weightage.

Part A : General mental ability (consisting of items on reasoning, analysis, comprehension and synthesis).

Part B : Mathematical topics such as Sets, Relations, Integration, Differentiation, Analytical Geometry, Trigonometry, Vectors, Matrices, Determinants, Differential Equations, Elementary Probability and Statistics, Number Systems, Data Representation, Algorithms and Flowcharts.

Part A and Part B are for 50 marks each for a total of 100 marks.

Part A consists of 25 objective type questions each for 2 marks.

Part B consists of 50 objective type questions each for one mark.

Statics: Composition of co-planar, concurrent and parallel forces, moments and couples, resultant of set of coplanar forces and conditions of equilibrium, determination of Centroides in simple case, problems involving friction.

Theory of probability, Mean, Median, Mode, Dispersion and Standard Deviation.

 18. MCA Entrance syllabus of DIRECTIRATE OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION MAHARASTRA STATE:

Syllabus:

Syllabus:

Total No. of Questions are 200. The duration of Exam is 2hrs and 30 min.
Section - A ( Analytical Ability) includes the following topics:
Data Sufficiency - 20 Questions (20 Marks)
A question is given followed by data in the form of two statements labelled as I and II. If the data given in I alone is sufficient to answer the question then choice (1) is the correct answer. If the data given in II alone is sufficient to answer the question the choice (2) is the correct answer. If both I and II put together are sufficient to answer the question but neither statement alone is sufficient, then choice (3) is the correct answer. If both I and II put together are not sufficient to answer the question and additional data is needed, then choice (4) is the correct answer.
Problem Solving - 55 Questions (55 Marks)

Analogies of numbers and alphabets completion of blank spaces following the pattern in a:b :: c:d relationship : odd thing out : missing number in a sequence or a series.
Data Analysis - 10 Question (10 Marks) 
The data given in a Table, Graph, Bar diagram, Pie Chart, Venn Diagram or a passage is to be analyzed and the questions pertaining to the data are to be answered.
Coding and Decoding Problems - 10 Questions (10 Marks) 
A code pattern of English alphabet is given. A given word or a group of letters are to be coded or decoded based on the given code or codes.
Date, Time & Arrangement Problems - 10 Questions (10 Marks) 
Calendar problems, Clock Problems, blood relationships, arrivals, departures and schedules: seating arrangements, symbol and notation interpretation.
Section - B (Mathematical Ability)
Arithmetical Ability - 35 Question (35 Marks) 
Laws of indices, ratio and proportion; surds; numbers and divisibility, l.c.m and g.c.d; Rational numbers; Ordering; Percentages; profit and loss partnerships, pipes and cisterns, time, distance and work problems, areas, and volumes, mersuration, Modular Arithmetical.

 23. MCA Entrance syllabus of ANNA UNIVERSITY:

Syllabus:

The question paper will be designed to test the capability of the candidates in the following areas :
Quantitative Ability
Analytical Reasoning
Logical reasoning
Computer awareness
There may be few questions on verbal activity, basic science etc.
The Question paper will have 100 objective type questions. Each question will be followed by FOUR alternate answers. The Candidate has to choose the correct answer and shade the appropriate circle against the question in the answer sheet with pencil / ball point pen (black or blue). 
Evaluation Scheme 
While evaluating the answers, one mark is awarded for each correct answer. No negative marks for wrong answers.


24. Syllabus of MCA Entrance Exam for GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY (GNDU):

Syllabus: The question paper in the Entrance Test shall be based on the subjects of the courses/degrees  mentioned in the eligibility clause, carry 100 questions each of one mark and to be attempted in 90  minutes.
